Lasagna with Three Cheeses and Savory Sausage

Everyone has their go-to lasagna recipe—I’ve cherished the one my sister shared with me over three decades ago (Virginia’s from the box side—truly delicious!).

Paula Deen’s Three Cheese and Sausage Lasagna stood out to me because it includes cream cheese. Mixed into the sauce, it creates an incredibly rich and velvety texture. I’d gladly use it on any pasta, any day!

When made right, lasagna is one of the finest Italian dishes. But when it’s not, it can be quite disappointing. Thankfully, this one came out perfectly. Honestly, I could enjoy lasagna three times a week and never get bored. And of course, you can’t forget the cheesy garlic bread!

This Three Cheese and Sausage Lasagna begins with layers of noodles, sauce, and cheese, repeated to create a rich and satisfying dish.

After assembling, it’s covered with aluminum foil and baked, then uncovered to achieve a beautifully golden brown top. While it didn’t create towering layers, the balance of sauce, cheese, and noodles was just right.

Next time, I might add about ½ cup of pasta water to the sauce for a bit more moisture between the layers. I also couldn’t resist adding extra mozzarella on top since we love extra-cheesy pasta, though the original amount would likely be perfect for most.

We absolutely loved this Three Cheese and Sausage Lasagna and will definitely be making it again. It yields a generous amount (filling a 13×9″ dish), making it perfect for sharing or bringing to a potluck.

But this time, we’re keeping it all to ourselves! I’ll be keeping it close, and we’ll be enjoying it for lunch and dinner over the next three days.
